Anti-Inflammatory Smoothies

Many of our common chronic health conditions (like pain, digestive issues, skin disorders, and allergies) are worsened by inflammation. While inflammation is helpful as an acute immune response to pathogens or injuries, chronic inflammation damages our tissues and weakens our organ systems which leads to pain and chronic illness.

Thankfully, a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet can do wonders for calming inflammation and restoring the body’s balance. Here are three delicious smoothies packed with anti-inflammatory powers:

Green Dream Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 frozen banana
1 cup fresh baby spinach, packed

¼"  piece of fresh ginger (peeled and sliced)

¼"  piece of fresh turmeric (peeled and sliced)

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon chia seeds

½ teaspoon flax seeds

Vibrant Berry Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

1 cup kale

½ small beet (peeled and chopped)

½ cup water

½ orange (peeled)

1 cup mixed berries (frozen)

½ cup pineapple (frozen)

1 TSP fresh ginger (grated or chopped)

1 TSP coconut oil

Pure Gold Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie

1 cup frozen mango 

1/2 cup frozen cauliflower florets

1 banana

1" piece of fresh ginger, peeled

1" piece fresh turmeric, peeled

pinch of freshly ground black pepper

pinch of cinnamon

1 cup coconut milk (canned)

½ cup water
