Quick Tips for a Better Night’s Sleep – Tonight!

It happens to us all – the tossing and turning, the anxious waiting and wishing, the endless, sleepless nights. Having trouble sleeping not only robs you of your precious shuteye, but can make you irritable, tired, and even lower your resistance to stress and illnesses.

If a good night’s sleep seems like a just a dream, listen up! We’ve got a few simple tips you can try tonight to help you fall asleep better, faster, and sounder.

Simple Tips for Better Sleep

  • Daily Digital Detox – You don’t need a full week or month of no-tech to get the benefits of a little downtime. Instead, vow to turn off your electronics 1-2 hours before bed each night (or even earlier) to help your brain prepare for rest. This not only helps your brain relax from harsh and stimulating blue light, but also minimizes nighttime stress and anxiety.
  • Create a bedtime ritual – Our brains love patterns and traditions. Having a bedtime routine signals to the brain that it’s time to wind down and can help you fall asleep faster. Aim for 3-5 calming bedtime habits to do each night such as reading, tidying up, meditating, a skin care routine, a bath, a self-foot massage, listening to instrumental music, or journaling. Be sure to keep up the ritual each night to train your brain for sleep.
  • Try a bedtime smoothie – Forget the warm milk, have a smoothie to help you sleep! Certain foods are known for helping improve sleep and calming the mind, and this soothing bedtime smoothie uses a few of these sleep-inducing superfoods to help you fall asleep soundly. Drink about one hour before you plan to doze off:
